The Latino King of Pop, Enrique Iglesias, is coming out with his new album “Euphoria” today.
During his 15 year singing career Enrique has released records that were either in Spanish or English. “Euphoria,” released by Universal Republic and Universal Music Latino, is a mix of both Spanish and English songs. The album’s producer is Nadir Khayat, known by his stage name, RedOne.
Iglesias has been working on his bilingual album for a year and a half. He spares no effort to make “Euphoria” the most exciting release ever.
In an interview with PopEater Enrique shared his impressions on writing both Spanish and English songs at the same time.
What I did with this album that was cool is, I started competing with myself. I would write a lot in Spanish, then a bunch in English, and compare them. Sometimes English felt better, sometimes Spanish felt better. I would just have them compete against each other to try to write the best songs. And they’re songs I enjoy — I wasn’t over-thinking it, because you always have pressure.
The record, which is categorized as being in both electropop and latin pop music genres, includes contributions from such huge guests as Juan Luis Guerra, Pitbul, Akon, Nicole Scherzinger, Usher and Puerto Rican duo Wisin & Yandel. The US/Latin standard version consists of 10 tracks. “Cuando Me Enamoro” featuring Juan Luis Guerra is the first single on the US version of the album. The international version consists of 14 tracks, and “I Like It” is the first single. Both singles already stand at the top of iTunes downloads and on Latin radio.
The album also includes the following tracks — “No Me Digas Que No” (with Wisin & Yandel), “Ayer,” “Dile Que,” “I Like It” (with Pitbull), “One Day At A Time (with Akon), “Heartbeat” (with Nicole Scherzinger), Dirty Dancer (with Usher), “Tu Y Yo,” and “No Me Digas Que No.” Each of these songs reveals a different emotional feeling.
Latin dance music has brought considerable fame to Enrique Iglesias. The mixture of Spanish and English songs on “Euphoria” is very promising, and this album is bound to be a best seller.
