As you may know Juliette Lewis is a beginner in the music world. During the five years of this singer’s career she’s released two albums with the third coming out on September 1.
Her latest album is entitled “Terra Incognita” which is translated as “unknown territory.”
In 2009 she left the group Juliette and the Licks and formed a new group named The New Romantiques.
The album “Terra Incognita” has radical changes in it, as it acoustically differs from other two albums. It’s a mix of several music genres such as blues, Latin and country music. Whatever she felt is expressed in the album. As she mentioned herself she felt distrustful and confident while writing the tracks for “Terra Incognita.”
The producer of this album Omar Rodriguez-Lopez and Juliette Lewis met at the Fuji Rock Festival in Japan in 2007. This meeting resulted in further cooperation, and as a result this album was recorded in Brooklyn and Guadalajara studios.
Once she announced that “Acting is me, but music is even more me. It’s everything. It’s the bitch’s brew. It’s my past self, present and future, and then my imagination. Being an actor is like being a bass player, one of the component parts to the collective hole.”
I welcome Juliette Lewis’ career as a singer and I’m looking forward to her latest album release, which is radically different from her previous work. I know that I’ll like it and I’m sure that you will too.
