Orenda Finks’s latest album entitled “Ask The Night” is set to be released on October 9.
“Ask the night” is her second solo CD. The Album is a respect to her Southern roots and it’s affected by Southern Gothic literature and traditional American folk music. The album is a mixture of the stories told by people about her life and personal experience.
The songs are very different, they vary in tones and style. A bunch of instruments is included in “Ask the night” such as guitar, mandolin, banjo, accordion, violin, upright bass and pump organ.
In the album a lot of singers and players are involved and it was primarily recorded by Stephen Bartolomei.
“Ask The Night” is a fascinating collection of folk songs and it moves between country (Alabama), folk (The Garden), old-time waltz (Sister) and haunting bluegrass (High Ground).
The album includes the following songs as well: Why Is The Night Sad, High Ground, Sister, That Certain-Something Spring, The Garden, Alabama, The Moon Knows and many other beautiful, heart touching songs.
When music and lyrics touches people hearts it means that composers and singers did their best and reached their goal. I am sure that Orenda Fink’s latest album which is due to be released in October 9 will be loved by a lot of folk music fans.
