Sting’s latest album entitled as “If On a Winter’s Night…” is set to be released on October 27 on Deutsche Grammophon.
Winter is the favorite season of the singer that’s why the album is dedicated to it. The main theme of the album is winter, spirits, ghosts and religion. Days of solitude and time of re-birth are also part of this forthcoming album.
The producer of this album is Robert Sadin. Sting’s long time colleague guitarist Dominic Miller is also involved in the creation of this album.
Traditional and well known music of the British Isles, carols and lullabies are included in the album “If On a Winter’s night”. Sting’s latest album includes the following songs: The Snow it Melts the Soonest (traditional Newcastle ballad), Gabriel’s Message (14th century carol), Balulalow (lullaby by Peter Warlock) and Now Winter Comes Slowly (Henry Purcell).
Two songs composed by Sting are also included in the album, namely “Lullaby for an Anxious Child” and “The Hounds of Winter” which were also included in his previous album entitled “Mercury Falling”.
If you are also fan of Sting, as me, and you like lullabies, ballads and carols then you will like the album “If On a Winter’s Night…”
