The album was supposed to come out on December 1 on World AIDS Day, but because of additional recording that was needed its release was delayed.
“The Element of Freedom” is her fourth studio album. Her previous albums included “Songs in A Minor” (2001), “The Diary of Alicia Keys” (2003) and “As I Am” (2007). ”The Element of Freedom” was recorded in The Oven Studios in Long Island, New York.
The American beauty in one of her interviews said that she expressed her sense of freedom through music. So, the choice of her album’s title was determined by this very fact. She also talked about the album’s diversity, its strong and vulnerable sides. Listeners will be pleasantly surprised from the artist’s new sound. “The Element of Freedom” is described as a journey by Alicia Keys.
“The Element of Freedom” includes the following tracks: “Doesn’t Mean Anything,” “Love Is Blind,” “Try Sleeping with a Broken Heart,” “Dreaming,” “Empire State of Mind (Part 2) Broken Down,” and “Pray for Forgiveness.”
