It’s already been more than three years since the pop diva Christina Aguilera–the five-time winner of the Grammy Award, released her previous album, “Back to Basics,” which sold 1,694,000 copies all over the world. We rarely see her on stage, as the last two years she’s been raising her little boy, Max.
Now let’s pass to the good news for her fans: this summer she’s coming back with her 4th highly anticipated studio album, “Bionic.” On March 25, she officially reported that her CD release date is June 8, 2010, while her first track “Not Myself Tonight” will premiere on Christina Aguilera.com on March 30.
On March 25, Sony Music stated in the press release that the album’s title “Bionic” reflects Aguliera’s abilities to show her unique voice in the ways never heard anytime, anywhere.
In the summer of 2007, during one of her tours, she reported that her next album would be sweet and quite different from her other albums.
Aguilera described her forth studio album as a mixture of various styles of music: “I was able to explore and create a fresh, sexy feel using both electronic and organic elements with subject matter ranging from playful to introspective. I am so excited for my fans to hear the new sound. It is something I don’t think anyone will expect.”
Her latest album “Bionic” featuring electronic and organic elements includes songs by herself cooperating with Tricky Stewart, Le Tigre, Ladytron, Polow da Don, and Linda Perry, who is also the producer and writer of her singles “Candy Man,” “Hurt” and “Beautiful.”
Aguilera reported: “Working on this album with so many talented artists and producers that I admire was really an amazing experience. The artists I chose to work with added so many unique sonic layers to Bionic. My intention was to step into their world and what they do combined with my own vision and sound.”
Aguilera has also finished working on her first film “Burlesque,” starring Cher, Kristen Bell and Stanley Tucci. The film will be released by ScreenGems this year.
What do you think–are you looking forward to “Bionic?”
