Colombian singer, Grammy winner and United Nations goodwill ambassador Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll finally decided to launch a new album. Its CD release date will probably be in September 2009.
This multi-talented young woman is in show business since 1990. Shakira sold more than 60 million albums throughout her music career. She was out of the music race in the recent 1-2 years but the Latin pop diva is coming back with her new album, the name of which is still unknown.
Shakira’s “Donde Estan Los Ladrones” album still remains her most successful album and her “Hips Don’t Lie” song was on top of the Billboard music charts and still enjoys popularity.
Shakira’s latest albums were Fijación Oral Vol. 1 and Oral Fixation Vol. 2 released in 2005. We expect that her forthcoming album will also be a boom, hoping that the break she took will only contribute to the perfection of her sixth studio album release.
As the singer’s beloved Antonio de la Rúa mentioned in one of the interviews Shakira’s upcoming album will consist of two singles, one single in Spanish and the other in English. The English album will be followed by the Spanish one.
There are rumors that Shakira is collaborating with Pharrell Williams, Wyclef Jean, Gustavo Cerati, Toby Gad, and RedOne. Shakira also worked with Puerto Rican hip-hop and reggaeton band Calle 13.
As far as I see the prodigy singer’s highly anticipated upcoming album is going to be a fantastic one.
