Blues Music Has Influenced Some Of The Greatest Guitarists

Blues Music Has Influenced Some Of The Greatest GuitaristsWho has not had the blues at one time or another? When you listen to the sounds of Stevie Ray Vaughn, or Muddy Waters, you feel that in your bones, all the way into your soul. That soulful crying of the guitar as it weeps, telling the world of the blues guitar pain. Blues music has influenced music from the very inception back in the 1800’s with Leadbelly: Robert Johnson whose work inspired greats such as Eric Clapton, who called him “the greatest blues singer that ever lived”. Rolling Stones magazine voted him fifth in their list of the 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time. Muddy Waters considered the “father of Chicago Blues” was a major inspiration for the British blues explosion. T-Bone Walker was the first blues musician to use an electric guitar. He influenced such greats as Chuck Berry, B. B. King, and Jimi Hendrix.

The blues music these greats played on their blues guitar could “sing”, “talk”, and by the manipulation of strings and bending, could make the music come alive.

B. B. King is 88 years old and still plays concerts. His next concerts are as early as Jan. 1, 2012 and he will be performing in Florida. You can see Buddy Guy in Oklahoma on Sunday January 1, 2012, Chris Botte is in New York on Saturday Dec. 31st, and Johnny Winter will be in New York on Tuesday Jan3rd. These are but a few of the great blues guitar players and should be seen to appreciate the pure magic of the blues music only they can play.
